The Warangal deputy transport commissioner’s jurisdiction is spread across Khammam and erstwhile Warangal districts.
ACB officials on Friday conducted searches at five locations, including his villa in Tellapur and residences of his relatives. They found Srinivas allegedly owns two properties in Banjara Hills, a 3,500 sft commercial space in a complex and a 3,600 sft apartment, 16 plots, including some in the suburbs of the city, 15 acres of agricultural land, one-and-a-half kg gold and 400 grams silver.
Apart from these assets, the officials also found Rs 5.29 lakh worth foreign liquor. The ACB investigators alerted excise officials, who registered a separate case against Srinivas.
“We are yet to open his bank locker. Investigation is still being done to come to a conclusion about his total assets,” ACB officials said. “The villa in which he resides at Tellapur itself could be around Rs 4 crore. The plots in the city are located in Hayathnagar, Hakeempet and other locations. The market value of his total assets will be over Rs 20 crore ” ACB DSP P Sambaiah told STOI.
In the past, Srinivas was reportedly suspended after the ACB raided a check post in Adilabad during the early years of his career. It was in mid-1990s, he had joined the transport department and worked in various districts, including Adilabad and Medchal, in different capacities.
“How he amassed wealth and who all helped him is being probed,” the officers said. Most of the properties, identified by ACB officials during their day-long searches on Friday, were registered either in his name or in the names of his family members.
