Toddler dies after bike hits pothole in Boisar | Mumbai News – Times of India
MUMBAI: An 18-month-old boy lost his life after falling from a motorbike driven by his grandfather on the Boisar-Navapur road in Palghar. The accident occurred when the two-wheeler hit a pothole filled with rainwater, causing the child to be thrown off the vehicle. The Boisar police have registered a case of accidental death.
The infant, identified as Maher Mohsin, was seated in front of his grandfather on the motorbike.As the vehicle encountered a water-filled pothole, the grandfather applied the brake, resulting in the child being flung onto the road. The boy suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Following the incident, angry locals took to the streets, blocking the road in protest. They demanded action against the contractors responsible for the poor condition of the road. Palghar had experienced heavy rainfall in the early hours of Monday, and although the intensity of the rain had decreased by daytime, the potholed roads remained filled with water, posing a significant risk to commuters.
