TN transport dept to run 627 special buses – The Times of India

CHENNAI: The state transport department will operate nearly 627 special buses on Friday and Saturday (Feb 28 and March 2) to clear extra rush of passengers.
This includes 485 special buses, operated from Kalaignar Centenary Bus Terminus (KCBT) at Kilambakkam in Chennai to Madurai, Trichy, Coimbatore, Salem and Tirunelveli on Friday and Saturday.
Additionally, 101 buses would depart from Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT), Koyambedu on these two days to Tiruvannamalai, Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Hosur and Bengaluru, said an official release. Another 20 buses will depart from Madhavaram terminus.
With more crowds expected to leave on Saturday, managers have been deployed at the new bus terminus to control the crowd and avoid chaos.
Around 21,500 passengers had already reserved bus tickets online, a release said, adding that others could book online on www.tnstc.in or TNSTC mobile app.
