TMBU’s Initiative to Empower Five Backward Villages in Bhagalpur | Patna News – Times of India

TMBU to adopt five villages in Bhagalpur

Bhagalpur: Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU) on Friday initiated steps to adopt five villages of backward blocks for empowering residents of these villages by reaching out to them and creating awareness about state and central govts’ welfare schemes for them.
The TMBU’s initiative has been undertaken following the instructions of governor-cum-chancellor of the state universities, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, who had brought data about some villages of five blocks in Bhagalpur district. People of these villagers are mostly underprivileged and unaware about the various welfare schemes, including Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Pariyojana (MKSP), Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP), National Rural Economic Transformation Project (NRETP), Deendayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY), Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETI) and others schemes for rural development.
Arlekar’s instructions to TMBU officials came on the occasion of ‘Academic Senate’ meeting of TMBU on Thursday while addressing the university officials and the senate members.
