Time to come together, UBT posts amid MNS ties talk

Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) on Saturday posted on X that “it was time to come together”. The post comes amid talk of reconciliation of the Thackeray cousins and when both Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and MNS chief Raj Thackeray are abroad with their families on a holiday.
The post reads, “Vel aaliye, ekatra yenyachi, Mumbai ani Maharashtrasathi, Shiv Sainik tayaar aahe, Marathi asmitechya rakshanasathi (The time has arrived to come together, for Mumbai and Maharashtra, the Shiv Sainik is ready, to protect Marathi pride).”

A week ago, Uddhav expressed his willingness to forge a political alliance with Raj at a public rally. MNS leaders were quick to oppose the alliance, saying it was unwanted. Sandeep Deshpande, ex-corporator and a close aide of Raj, questioned if Uddhav would apologise for the 17,000 police cases registered against MNS workers when he was CM. Raj stepped in though, saying he would speak on the issue when he returned to Mumbai. — Clara Lewis
