Thunderstorm warning for five days: IMD

Bhubaneswar: IMD on Monday issued yellow warning of rain and thunderstorm activities accompanied by gusty surface wind in many districts, mostly spread over interior Odisha. On Tuesday such warning would continue at isolated places in 10 districts. They are Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangapur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Balangir, Kandhamal, Boudh and Angul.
In the wake of IMD’s warning, the office of special relief commissioner ( SRC ) has issued alert to district collectors and its advisory suggested to take steps as required. On Monday, Boudh and Jharsuguda was hottest towns in the state at 42.1°C and 42°C. In five more towns, mercury was hovering at 40°C or above. Bhubaneswar recorded maximum of 36.2°C.
