Three-Month-Old Elephant Calf Rescued and Relocated to Chandaka Reserve | Bhubaneswar News

Keonjhar: A three-month-old elephant calf, which was rescued by the forest department near Jagdala dam in Keonjhar Sadar range on Nov 1 after it was separated from its herd, was shifted to Chandaka reserve forest on Saturday. The calf, after its rescue, was lodged at the Padmapur mega nursery. Later, forest officials tried to reunite the calf with the herd, but neither its mother nor the other elephants accepted it despite several efforts.
Since then, a 10-member forest team has been taking care of the calf in the mega nursery. Everyone was confused while shifting the baby elephant. The staff accompanied the baby elephant to Chandaka.TNN
