Three men injured in clash over IPL | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: Three men were injured here on Thursday night during a group clash triggered by an offensive social media post regarding Punjab Kings’ victory over Chennai Super Kings in Tuesday’s IPL match.
The confrontation took place in a slum within Bharatpur police limits around 10.45 pm when the warring groups engaged in a heated argument concerning the controversial social media content.
“CSK supporters in the slum demanded that their rivals remove the contentious post. When this request was refused, violence broke out between the groups. In the ensuing conflict, an assailant wounded three people with a knife, inflicting injuries on their shoulders,” said Sampad Pradhan, a local resident.
“The victims are undergoing treatment at Capital Hospital. They are safe and stable. Raids are being conducted to arrest the attackers,” said an officer from Bharatpur police station.
One platoon of police has been deployed in the slum area. Police authorities have instructed the individual responsible to remove the social media post to prevent more conflicts.
