Telangana YouTuber Bayya Sunny Yadav ‘picked up’ in Chennai, his Pakistan trip under lens | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: Telangana YouTuber Bayya Sunny Yadav is believed to have been picked up by unidentified persons claiming to be police officials in plain clothes from a residence in Chennai on Thursday night, triggering concern and confusion among his family and followers over his sudden disappearance. Sunny was staying at the home of his friend and fellow YouTuber Cherry when he was allegedly picked up.Sunny, 29, had visited Pakistan in Feb as part of his 40-country world tour and stayed there for nearly one-and-a-half months. His family now suspects his “detention” may be linked to that international travel. Sunny hails from Suryapet.However, both Nalgonda and Suryapet police denied picking up Sunny and sources in the local National Investigation Agency office stated they had no knowledge of the incident. The persons who claimed to be policemen were speaking in Telugu, it is learnt.
Sunny’s father to move high court
Following the incident, Sunny’s father, Ravinder Yadav, said on Friday that he is planning to approach the Telangana high court to seek the court’s intervention in tracing his son. “I was supposed to file a petition on Friday but couldn’t. I will move the court on Saturday. Till now, I have no idea which police agency has picked up my son,” he said.According to Ravinder, individuals claiming to be from the Nalgonda police crime team arrived at Cherry’s residence and told Sunny to cooperate. The same message was conveyed over a phone call to Cherry, who is currently in London. Sunny’s phone has remained switched off since.Ravinder said he learned about the incident through Cherry’s family. He also recalled that, a few days earlier, men claiming to be from a central agency had visited their home to gather details about Sunny but did not reveal which agency they represented.A few months ago, Sunny was arrested by Suryapet police in a suo motu case for allegedly promoting online betting via his YouTube content. He was later granted bail.
