HYDERABAD: A 22-year-old man, Putta Anil, was arrested by the police in Siddipet district for posting unnatural sex videos involving minors on social media.
According to Dubak circle inspector Srinivas, Anil, who belongs to Laxminagar village in Miruoddi mandal, was watching porn videos involving minors on his phone.
Following a complaint received from cyber security officers, Anil was traced and arrested on Friday after he posted porn videos of minors indulging in unnatural sex.
The police, who registered a case, seized his mobile phone, SIM card, and a DVD.
He was arrested and remanded in judicial custody.
A similar incident has been reported in Kolkata.
The cyber cell of Kolkata Police has arrested a man from Narkeldanga for allegedly sharing child pornographic content on social media platforms. According to sources, Facebook provided the initial alert about this illicit content. The authorities have filed a case under the Pocso Act.
The police suspect that the victim could be a resident of Kolkata. According to court sources, the judge has permitted the recording of the child’s statement.
The accused was taken into custody on Thursday and will remain in police detention until April 4. Police officials indicate that additional arrests are expected, as evidence suggests the involvement of an organised criminal group. According to legal provisions, the possession of pornographic material on electronic devices, including mobile phones and computers, constitutes a criminal offence.
“In this case, the accused kept the objectionable content on his mobile phone. It has been seized and sent to a forensic lab. We are ascertaining who created this content,” said a senior police officer.
