NEW DELHI: Heavy rainfall and strong winds hit Siddipet district of Telangana on Sunday night, leading to the partial collapse of a toll plaza roof in Duddeda (under the Siddipet police station limits).

Police reported that strong winds caused the toll plaza’s roof layer to collapse. “There were no vehicles at the toll plaza when the roof collapsed,” a police official said.
There were no injuries or casualties reported.
The stormy conditions in Siddipet resulted in multiple trees being uprooted across various locations.
The IMD has issued an orange alert for several Telangana districts, including Adilabad, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Hanamkonda, Nirmal, Nalgonda, Suryapet, J Bhupalpally, and Peddapalle, warning of thunderstorms and lightning. These severe weather warnings remain in effect until May 7.
In Mount Abu, Rajasthan, Sunday night’s rainfall led to foggy conditions, requiring drivers to use headlights during daytime. Despite the travel difficulties, tourists were seen enjoying the unusual weather conditions.
For Mount Abu, the IMD forecasts predominantly cloudy skies “with possibility of rainfall and thunderstorm” until May 10.
The IMD has also issued an orange alert for Rajasthan for May 5, 6, and 7.
Eastern and western Rajasthan, Punjab, Jammu, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gujarat and Jammu experienced gusty winds and thunderstorms.
Sunday saw hailstorms in parts of Uttarakhand, West Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, while Meghalaya and Odisha received heavy rainfall.
An orange alert for May 5 has been issued for numerous regions across north-west and central India, encompassing Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Telangana.
