Telangana High Court junks Hydraa’s plea on Bathukamma Kunta | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: The Telangana high court on Friday dismissed an interlocutory application filed by HYDRAA, seeking a review of the status quo orders related to rejuvenation works at Bathukamma Kunta lake in Amberpet.
Acting Chief Justice Sujoy Paul, while hearing the plea, said that no grounds were made to invoke the court’s review jurisdiction. He said that the trial court would expeditiously decide the matter based on its merits.
The status quo order was originally issued in Feb in response to a petition by Aedla Sudhakar Reddy, who claims ownership of the seven-acre tank land in Bagh Amberpet in Amberpet mandal. The high court observed that a title dispute was already pending before the Hyderabad city civil court, which had previously issued an injunction against HYDRAA and others.
Despite this, govt authorities attempted to proceed with work on the land. In response, Sudhakar Reddy again approached the high court, submitting photographs showing sophisticated machinery deployed by HYDRAA at the site. Taking note of this, the high court reaffirmed the status quo on the disputed lake land.
