Telangana HC grants temporary bail to life convict for son's wedding

HYDERABAD: To attend the wedding of his son scheduled for next week, the Telangana high court granted temporary bail to a murder convict identified as Nayyum, who is serving life imprisonment at Cherlapally for a 2011 murder case. Nayyum was convicted by the principal sessions judge, Vikarabad district, in December 2022.
A division bench of justices Moushumi Bhattacharya and BR Madhusudhan Rao, while hearing a criminal appeal filed by Nayyum on Friday, granted him bail from May 3 to June 25.

As he is currently serving the prison term at Cherlapally central prison, the bench directed him to surrender before the prison authorities on June 25 and disposed of the appeal. His son’s marriage is fixed for May 8.
The case was reported at Peddemul in the district. Nayyum and eight others, including a minor, hacked to death a youngster at Thattepally village in a case of revenge murder.
One of the accused in the murder case, Molla Zainullabuddin’s son Mahabub, died of electric shock while working in the field owned by the victim Khaja Moinoddin’s family.
Suspecting that Khaja was behind Mahabub’s electrocution, Zainullabuddin, Nayyum, and others killed Moinoddin.
The minor involved in the murder was acquitted due to lack of evidence, and the case against one more person was dropped after he died, while seven others were sentenced to life imprisonment by the sessions court at Vikarabad.
