Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy puts police on high alert after review with defence officials post ‘Operation Sindoor’ | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: Telangana chief minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday put the police force on high alert and directed them to increase security and vigilance in all sensitive areas, foreign embassies, IT companies in and around Hyderabad, and district centres, in view of Operation Sindoor carried out by India at midnight on Tuesday.The chief minister held an emergency meeting with available officers from the armed forces, the Director General of Police (DGP), other top police officials, and officials from the disaster management department to review security measures for major defence installations in the city and other places across the state following Operation Sindoor.“The police should be alert in Hyderabad city. The leaves of all employees from essential services departments and foreign trips stand cancelled, and all ministers and officials should be available. We should give a message that we are all with the country’s defence forces. There is no room for politics and parties at this time,” he said.CM Revanth will monitor the civil defence mock drill at four locations in Hyderabad at 4 pm today (Wednesday).The security measures to safeguard all major installations and key strategic Central, defence, and state government locations were reviewed. The state government will provide full support and cooperation to the Armed Forces and will work in coordination with them. CM Revanth will personally monitor the situation on a war footing to ensure security, safety, and total vigilance in Hyderabad and all cities, towns, and villages across Telangana.“People are advised to stay vigilant but also be fully reassured that the Centre and State are working together for their safety. We request total cooperation from all citizens at this hour,” the CM said.Strict action will be taken against government employees who make unnecessary statements to the media or on social media. A round-the-clock toll-free number will be set up for public use. Unauthorised stay of citizens from Pakistan and Bangladesh should be immediately detained.“Blood banks should be prepared with adequate stocks, and emergency medicines should be kept ready in all hospitals. Ensure that food stocks are sufficient,” the CM said.Officials were instructed to coordinate with the Red Cross Society. Police were directed to remain vigilant about cyber security. Strong action should be taken against those who spread fake news.“Fake news is likely to increase public anxiety. A special cell should be set up to curb it. CCTV cameras should be connected to the command control room in the three commissionerates of the state capital. If necessary, consult peace committees. The police department should be alert regarding history-sheeters and habitual offenders,” he added.CM Revanth said a rally will be taken out from the secretariat to the Necklace road at 6 pm on Thursday to express solidarity and support to the armed forces (defence forces). The CM, ministers and other leaders will participate. The CM posted on X: “As an Indian citizen first, standing strongly with our armed forces. The strikes against terror factories in Pakistan and PoK make us proud. Let us make this a moment for national solidarity and unity, and all of us speak in one voice – Jai Hind!.”CM Revanth said:
