Tejashwi raises concerns over rising crime in Bihar, invokes ‘jungle raj’ term | Patna News – Times of India

Patna: Leader of opposition in state assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav has once again raised the issue of law and order in Bihar. On Tuesday, he cited examples of various crimes in different parts of the state in the past two days on social media and addressed it to PM Narendra Modi. Sarcastically, he mentioned the term “jungle raj” in the letter, which is often used by the NDA netas for the 15-yr RJD rule in the state.
Tejashwi said it was expected that PM would speak two words on the “record-breaking crime” in Bihar.“All justice-loving and wise people say that you get the wild dreams of jungle raj only during the elections. For your knowledge, I am sharing a short list of dreadful crimes which have occurred in the past two-three days,” he wrote, citing examples of various crimes including murder, loot, kidnapping, and lynching.
The RJD functionaries have also become vocal against the state govt, especially on the issue of lawlessness in the state. RJD state president Shakti Singh Yadav lashed out at the govt over the rising crime graph, saying criminals had free hands and common people were living in fear.
However, NDA netas hit back at RJD for discussing law and order. BJP’s Bihar media head Danish Iqbal reminded Tejashwi of the era when RJD was in power in Bihar, saying that people associated with the party become violent when it is in power.
JD(U) state spokesperson Anjum Ara said Tejashwi has no moral right to talk on law and order topic. She said the term ‘jungle raj” was coined by the high court for the govt his parents were heading, and there was a time during the Lalu-Rabri era when organized crime used to take place and was handled from the CM House.
