Patna: An 18-year-old youth was shot dead allegedly during a dispute while playing cards in Jogia village under Vibhutipur police station of Samastipur district on Sunday. Victim Guddu Kumar Ram, a resident of Vibhutipur East Ward 5, had gone out with his friends to play cards when the incident took place in an orchard, police said.
On receiving information, Vibhutipur police arrived at the scene and began an investigation.Vibhutipur station house officer (SHO) Anand Kashyap said playing cards and a loaded country-made pistol were recovered from the scene.
“Prima facie, the incident appears to have occurred during some dispute while playing cards. The young man was hit by a single bullet on chest from a close range. However, it is being investigated whether the bullet was shot accidentally or intentionally to kill Guddu,” he said.
