Tech firm promoter dies during ED search

Mumbai:Sixty-two-year-old Dinesh Nandwana, the chairman emeritus of Mumbai-based Vakrangee technology firm, died on Friday while the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was conducting a search at his premises in Andheri (East). The police said the cause of the death will be known only after the postmortem examination. Sources said that during the search process, he developed health complications which led to his death.
The MIDC police have registered an accidental death report. A senior police officer said the family has not made any complaint of ill treatment.
The ED’s Jalandhar unit, supported by the local division, was conducting raids at several locations, including his premises, when Nandwana developed health complications. During the search ED generally records statements of those concerned found on the premises and restrict their movement/communication during the proceeding.
The company issued a statement to the BSE, “…with deep sorrow, we hereby inform that our promoter and chairman emeritus, Dinesh Nandwana, aged 62 years has left us for the heavenly abode today afternoon i.e. January 31, 2025. Dinesh Nandwana was the first generation entrepreneur who played an important role in bringing the company to its present level based on very strong fundamentals. He has been instrumental in moulding Vakrangee from a modest consultancy company to a prominent force to be reckoned with and has scaled the company to a new orbit of growth.”
