Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Ltd (TNPDCL) receives more than 11,000 grievance petitions – The Times of India

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Ltd (TNPDCL) received more than 11,022 petitions at special camps held across the state. The day-long camps were held in all 176 executive engineers’ offices of TNPDCL from 11am to 5pm on Saturday.
Most of the petitions 5,547 of them were about problems faced by consumers while transferring services to another person’s name. TNPDCL said 1,068 such petitions were addressed on the same day, with the remaining petitions to be done in the next 15 days.
Further, of the 2,278 petitions received on damaged electricity poles, 18 were closed after officials issued orders for them to be replaced. Of the 1,394 petitions on miscalculation of consumption charges, 675 were resolved on the spot. And, of the 371 complaints received about malfunctioning meters, TNPDCL said 203 complaints were closed immediately.
In Chennai, the discom’s chairman and managing director, J Radhakrishnan, received petitions from consumers at a camp held in Valluvar Kottam.
