The Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (HSE +2) is set to begin tomorrow, March 3, 2025. This year, over 8 lakh students will appear for the exams, which will be conducted between March 3 and March 25, 2025. The Tamil Nadu School Education Minister has confirmed that all necessary preparations have been completed for the smooth conduct of the exams.
Meanwhile, the Class 10 board exams are scheduled to commence on March 28, 2025, with over 9 lakh students expected to participate. The Class 11 exams will take place from March 5 to March 27, 2025.

Important Exam Day Guidelines

Admit Card Requirement: Students must carry their Tamil Nadu HSE +2 admit card to the exam center. Entry will be denied without it.
Arrival Time: Candidates should reach their exam centers at least one hour before the exam begins to avoid last-minute confusion.
Question Paper Reading Time: A 10-minute reading period will be provided before the exam starts, allowing students to plan their approach efficiently.

Exam Duration and Regulations

As per the standard examination format, each paper will be conducted for a duration of three hours. Students will be provided with an additional 10 minutes before the exam starts to read the question paper and another 5 minutes to verify their details.
Strict examination guidelines have been issued to ensure a fair and disciplined environment:

  • Mobile phones and electronic devices are strictly prohibited inside the exam centers for both students and teachers on invigilation duty.
  • Only pens, pencils, and essential stationery items will be allowed inside the exam hall.
  • Students must carry a printed copy of their hall ticket along with a valid ID proof for verification.
  • Candidates are advised to arrive at least 30 minutes before the reporting time to avoid any delays.
  • Any form of cheating or unfair means will lead to strict disciplinary action.

Previous Year TN HSE +2 Exam Overview

In 2024, the TN Class 12 public exams were conducted from March 1 to March 22, and the official timetable was released on November 16, 2023. The practical exams took place from February 12 to February 17, 2024, while the supplementary exams were held between June 24 and July 1, 2024.
A total of 7,60,606 students appeared for the 2024 TN HSE +2 exams, with the results announced on May 6, 2024. The overall pass percentage stood at 94.56%, with girls securing a 96.44% pass rate, outperforming boys, who had a pass percentage of 92.37%.

The TN Class 12 board exam results are expected to be released in May 2025. Students can check their results by logging into the official website, dge.tn.gov.in, using their roll number, date of birth, and captcha code.
