Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin Requests Meeting with PM Modi on Delimitation Concerns | Chennai News – The Times of India

CHENNAI: Chief minister M K Stalin on Wednesday sought an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi “to present a memorandum on delimitation that emerged from the recent deliberations.”
Stalin wrote a letter to Modi seeking his “audience” along with select MPs of Parliament from different parties.
Recalling the meeting of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) on ‘fair delimitation’ held on March 22, in which chief ministers from various states participated, Stalin said, “The voices emerging from our deliberations transcend political boundaries, embodying the concerns of citizens from diverse regions who seek fair representation in our parliamentary democracy.”
Saying that the delimitation issue holds significance for our states and citizens, “I kindly request a meeting with you to formally submit the memorandum on behalf of the JAC.”
“I look forward to your positive response at the earliest,” Stalin added.
DMK for long has been insisting the BJP govt at the centre not to go for delimitation based on population.
