Supplementary budget passed amid protest | Patna News – Times of India

Patna: Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav on Thursday adjourned the post-lunch session of the House after the start of the motion for the passage of Rs 47,512.11 crore first supplementary budget for fiscal year 2024-25.
A debate on the Rs 10,391.30 crore supplementary budget for the education department was initiated by Congress member Ajay Kumar Singh.
Singh moved the cut motion, but the debate could not continue, as the Speaker adjourned the House after the opposition created ruckus over remarks of BJP’s Jiwesh Mishra against RJD and its top leaders, including Lalu Prasad and Tejashwi Prasad Yadav.
Finally, the allotment for the education department, along with the first supplementary budget and the related appropriation Bill, was passed in half an hour without any debate on them.
Singh also referred to Union Budget for 2024-25. WRD minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary clarified the points regarding the Rs 59,000 crore package for Bihar.
Later, the opposition members sat on a dharna outside the Speaker’s chamber.
