BJP: PM to launch Subhadra Yojana in Puri on Sept 17

Bhubaneswar: State BJP on Sunday confirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil Subhadra Yojana in Puri on Sept 17 on his birthday.
This will be PM Modi’s first visit to the state after he and other senior BJP members attended the swearing-in ceremony of the council of ministers of the new BJP govt. Subhadra Yojana is a flagship scheme announced by the Mohan Majhi govt that aims to financially empower 1 crore woman of the state.The state govt has already prepared a standard operating procedure for its implementation.
A major promise in BJP’s election manifesto, Subhadra Yojana was chosen to be launched from Puri in line with the new govt’s first pledge to open all four gates of the Jagannath Temple.
Govt sources said detailed guidelines of the scheme will be sent to the district collectors soon.
“Application forms for the scheme will be distributed at anganwadi centres, block offices, common service centres and Mo Seva Kendras. The forms can be submitted at common service centres and Mo Seva Kendras,” a source said. Officials have held discussions to disseminate necessary information related to the scheme to all stakeholders.
Eligible beneficiaries will get Rs 5,000 each on Raksha Bandhan and International Women’s Day. This way an eligible woman beneficiary will be given Rs 50,000 over five years.
