Subhadra Yojana: Deputy CM says no last date to apply for Subhadra Yojana | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: Deputy chief minister Pravati Parida on Wednesday asked women not to hurry as there is no last date to apply for benefits under Subhadra Yojana. “Enrolment will continue till all eligible women are included,” she said amid the rush of people at common service centres for correction in Aadhaar cards for enrolment.
Women applicants need to have valid phone numbers linked to their Aadhaar numbers for enrolment in the scheme. Many women stood in queues to link their phone numbers with Aadhaar numbers. Some stood in queues to rectify different mistakes in Aadhaar cards such as date of birth and surname, apprehending that these may debar them from availing the benefits.
Parida, who also hold the women and child development portfolio, said if anyone asks for money at any stage of the Subhadra application process, people should lodge complaints by calling the helpline number (14678). “Action will be taken against the guilty,” she said after she inaugurated the Subhadra call centre here. The helpline will remain functional from 6 am to 10 pm every day.
The deputy CM said people should visit the Subhadra portal or call up the helpline in case of any doubts. While enrolled women will get their first instalment under the scheme on Sept 17, those who enrol late will get their money subsequently, she said.
Leader of the opposition and BJD president Naveen Patnaik said the BJP govt had betrayed the mothers of Odisha over the Subhadra scheme. Addressing a gathering of BJD women’s wing members, Naveen said in the run-up to elections, BJP members had promised to pay Rs 50,000 to every woman in two years. “But they are now paying only Rs 5,000 in six months. They had promised to give the benefits to all women. However, many mothers have been deprived,” Naveen said.
“Naveen only used women as vote bank. Now when the Mohan Majhi-led govt has decided to pay Rs 50,000 to women, he has become intolerant,” said BJP spokesperson Urmila Mohapatra.
