Subhadra Scheme: DGP urged to ensure smooth execution of Subhadra scheme | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: Development commissioner Anu Garg on Monday wrote to director general of police (DGP) YB Khurania, urging him to implement precautionary measures to avoid untoward incidents during the enrolment process of the Subhadra scheme.
She also urged him to take stringent action against unscrupulous elements who may try to exploit the beneficiaries.“As you are aware, the state govt has launched Subhadra, a path-breaking initiative aimed at empowering women across the state,” she wrote.

Garg stated that each eligible beneficiary will receive a cash transfer of Rs 50,000 over a span of 5 years. “This initiative is anticipated to benefit more than 1 crore women, encompassing all 30 districts,” she added.
She further elaborated that camps for the distribution and collection of forms will be organized in appropriate locations, as per the discretion of district collectors or municipal commissioners. She said it is apprehended that beneficiaries would congregate for collection and submission of forms at these locations. Furthermore, unscrupulous elements may try to exploit people and engage in nefarious activities, she cautioned. The development commissioner requested the DGP that instructions may be issued to all concerned authorities to implement necessary precautionary measures and ensure smooth implementation of the programme.
“Adequate personnel may be deployed at appropriate locations in consultation with the district collectors or municipal commissioners. You are also requested to alert your team to remain vigilant and act upon any tip or information received, taking strict legal action against any middlemen or unscrupulous elements detected during the process,” she wrote.
Mentioning about scheme’s roll out process, Garg said application forms will be available at various locations, including Anganwadi centres, block offices, urban local body offices, common service centres and Mo Seva kendras. “Applicants shall submit completed application forms at the designated locations to enrol under Subhadra scheme. Personnel at these locations shall upload duly filled application forms on the Subhadra portal and issue acknowledgement receipts,” Garg apprised the DGP.
