Stranded Odisha workers return home from Oman

Bhubaneswar: Four migrant workers from Odisha’s Ganjam district returned home after being stranded in Oman due to swift intervention of the state and central authorities. The workers arrived in Mumbai on an Air India Express flight from Muscat at 4 am on Thursday and reached Berhampur by train from Bhubaneswar on Friday.
CM Mohan Charan Majhi expressed his gratitude to external affairs minister S. Jaishankar and the Indian Embassy in Oman for their prompt assistance in securing the workers’ safe return.
The rescue operation was initiated after reports of the stranded workers reached the CMO through email. Acting immediately, Majhi directed the chief resident commissioner in New Delhi to coordinate with the ministry of external affairs and the Indian ambassador in Oman.
The workers were located in Sohar, Oman. The Indian embassy maintained regular contact with them via phone, and the rescue operation was conducted safely, a govt statement reads.
