Steel Plant: Govt Notification To Acquire Land For K’pada Steel Plant | Bhubaneswar News
Kendrapada: State govt on Saturday issued a notification to acquire 1,281 acres of land for the proposed steel plant of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel (AM/NS) in Kendrapada district.
Officials pasted copies of the notification, issued by the revenue and disaster management department, in the gram panchayat offices of Ramnagar, Kharinashi and Batighar. Land will be acquired in Badatubi, Barakolikhola and Nipania villages under Batighar GP, Ramanagar and Banabihari villages under Ramanagar GP and six villages under Kharinashi GP for the project.
“Land will be acquired by Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) for handing over to AM/NS India . All displaced villagers will get proper compensation as per the law,” said Manas Ranjan Tripathy S, tehsildar of Mahakalapada.
Many villagers welcomed the decision to build a steel plant.
