Statewide protest held by lawyers | Patna News – Times of India

Patna: Lawyers from the civil and lower courts across the state wore black badges on Wednesday to protest against the murder of father-son lawyer duo in Saran district on June 12.
In response to a call by the Bihar State Bar Council (BSBC), the lawyers wore black badges while performing their legal duties.
The lawyers demanded prompt arrest of the criminals and their punishment through a speedy trial.They also urged the BSBC, Bar Council of India, and Bihar government to introduce the Advocate Protection Act as soon as possible.
Unidentified motorcycle-borne criminals had shot dead lawyer Ram Ayodhya Rai (68) and his son Sunil Kumar (35), near Kendriya Vidyalaya on the state highway under Muffasil police station limits in Saran district on June 12.
Both father and son were on a bike from their home in Methwalia village to Chhapra court when the criminals fired on them near Doodhiya bridge under Muffasil police station. Both father and son died on the spot. According to Muffasil police, an FIR against six named accused was registered in the matter. Two of them have been arrested, while raids are being continued to nab others.
