NEW DELHI: Telangana, India’s youngest state, which was carved out of Andhra Pradesh on June 2, 2014, is celebrating its 11th formation day on Monday. This year, the Telangana government, under the leadership of chief minister Revanth Reddy, has organized an elaborate celebration to mark the occasion. At the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad, the chief minister is leading a vibrant state-level event filled with patriotic fervor and cultural pride. Ministers are participating in simultaneous celebrations across every district, ensuring that the spirit of Telangana formation day resonates throughout the state. As a tribute to the heroes of the statehood movement, the government is offering financial assistance and recognition to individuals who played key roles in the agitation. The government has also focused on honoring public service; a total of 486 policemen and uniformed personnel are being awarded Police Seva Medals in recognition of their distinguished contributions to public safety and service.Telangana legislative assembly speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar began the day’s proceedings with a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Dr BR Ambedkar, followed by the unfurling of the national flag, reaffirming the state’s commitment to democratic values and social justice.President Droupadi Murmu praised the state’s cultural heritage and its modern strides in economic and technological development. She said in her post on X “Warm greetings to the people of Telangana on Statehood Day! This young State has a rich cultural heritage and a vibrant modern ecosystem of economic and technological development. I wish that the people of Telangana march ahead on the path of progress and prosperity. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also conveyed his wishes, describing Telangana as a state that has made “innumerable contributions to national progress.” He said “Greetings to the wonderful people of Telangana on their Statehood Day. The state is known for making innumerable contributions to national progress. Over the last decade, the NDA Government has undertaken many measures to boost ‘Ease of Living’ for the people of the state. May the people of the state be blessed with success and prosperity. Union home minister Amit Shah lauded the state’s cultural legacy and the industrious spirit of its people. In his post on X, he wrote, “On Telangana statehood day, warm greetings to our brothers and sisters of the state. With its rich culture, heritage, and hardworking people, Telangana shines brightly on India’s ethno-cultural map. May the state reach new heights of prosperity.”LOP Rahul Gandhi wished the people of Telangana, in his X post he wrote “Wishing the people of Telangana a very Happy Statehood Day! 11 years ago, under the leadership of Dr Manmohan Singh ji and Smt Sonia Gandhi ji, Telangana was born – giving shape to the hopes and dreams of millions. My heartfelt tributes to all who gave their sweat and sacrifice for the Telangana movement. The Congress party stands with you in building a ‘Prajalu Telangana’ – a just, dignified, and prosperous future for every citizen. Our guarantees are a reflection of that unwavering commitment – to every family, to every dream.”Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy expressed his desires for a golden future and rising vision, he wrote in his post on X, “To the aspirations of the martyrs… To the aspirations of the people… For the welfare of the poor… For farmers’ cultivation dreams… For the economic self-reliance of girls… Youth for a golden future… Telangana Rising Vision… On this auspicious occasion… Let’s get organized. To the people of the state… Happy Independence Day.”Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu shared his heartfelt wishes in his post on X he wrote, “Though separated as Telugu states, the Telugu people and the Telugu nation are one. My thought and aspiration are that Telugu people, wherever they are, should rise with dignity. I extend my heartfelt greetings to the people of Telangana celebrating the 11th state formation day. I wish for every family in Telangana to live with happiness and prosperity, and to progress on the path of development. I hope that both Telugu states compete in development and reach the forefront by Viksit Bharat-2047, and that the Telugu nation stands as an unparalleled force. I call upon every Telugu citizen to be a part of this journey.”
