State to showcase tourism sites | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Tourism is gearing up to showcase the state’s diverse tourism potential during the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas. The destinations would include eco-retreats, Buddhist circuits, migratory birds in Chilika lake, among others. Infrastructure upgrades have been completed at 31 select tourist destinations with over 100 trained guides ready to accompany guests to explore Odisha’s beauty and history.
“Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is a unique opportunity for Odisha to reveal its best kept secrets. We have a chance to showcase Odisha’s rich culture and tourism potential to the world. Let us welcome our guests with warmth and pride,” said deputy chief minister and tourism minister Pravati Parida on Saturday. “The event is poised to highlight Odisha’s efforts to position itself as a global tourist destination while strengthening its connection with the Indian diaspora,” she added.
She said many dance and music festivals like the Rajarani Music Festival, Mukteswar Dance Festival, Chilika Bird Festival, Patho Utsav to Ekamra Utsav, Park Utsav to Sea Festival in Puri, are being organised to coincide with Pravasi Bharatiya Divas.
“We have not showcased the our hidden treasures of Odisha to the world yet. This is an ideal time not only for the visitors but also for domestic tourists and residents of Odisha to explore the state and its rich tourism experiences and potentials,” Parida said.
To accommodate the influx of visitors, hotels and homestays are prepared to provide world-class hospitality. Security arrangements have been intensified ensuring the safety of all attendees. Hotel and Restaurant Association of Odisha (HRAO) said this is an advantage for Odisha hoteliers. “No doubt this global event will bring an opportunity for hoteliers, and it is up to us what advantage we can take from this event,” said J K Mohanty, chairman of HRAO.
With an expected participation of around 7,000 visitors from across the world, the event will also be attended by President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other high-profile dignitaries.
