State-level BEd entrance test on May 28

Patna: Preparations are afoot to hold the state-level combined entrance test on May 28 for admission to the two-year BEd course in 343 govt and private training colleges functioning under 14 universities.More than 1.31 lakh candidates will take the test for altogether 37,500 seats.The chief nodal officer of the combined entrance test, Ashok Kumar Mehta, told the newspaper that the admit cards of all the applicants have been uploaded on the website of Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU). Nearly 1.15 lakh examinees have already downloaded their admit cards, he said.The entrance test will be held from 11am to 1pm, while the candidates have been directed to reach their examination centres by 10.30am. The two-hour test will be held in Ara, Bhagalpur, Chhapra, Darbhanga, Gaya, Hajipur, Madhepura, Munger, Muzaffarpur, Patna and Purnia. With a view to ensuring smooth and fair conduct of examinations, govt high schools and colleges, mostly in university and district headquarters have been selected as the tests centres, said Mehta.The two-hour objective test will consist of 120 questions of one mark each. While 40 marks will be allotted to the questions related to general awareness, 80 marks will be for Hindi, English, reasoning and analytical ability, and teaching-learning environment. There would be no negative marking in the test, Mehta said. There are altogether 37,500 seats in 343 govt and private training colleges functioning under 14 universities — Patliputra University, Magadh University, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University, Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic and Persian University, LNMU, Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University, Purnea University, Veer Kunwar Singh University, JPU, Munger University, BNMU, Patna University and Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit University.
