Stalin twisting facts on 3-language policy: Annamalai | Chennai News – The Times of India

Chennai: BJP state president K Annamalai on Tuesday accused chief minister M K Stalin of “twisting facts” on the three-language policy.
“The three-language policy under the National Education Policy (NEP) is an opportunity for all students to learn many languages like they are offered in private schools. It should be available to the poor and downtrodden students studying in govt schools, but Stalin is claiming that it is a Hindi imposition. In fact, Hindi imposition is happening only in private schools. Stalin is twisting facts and is blaming the three-language policy for Hindi imposition,” Annamalai said on X.
Hours after Stalin reiterated that there will be no three-language policy in TN and that through the three-language policy the BJP govt at the Centre is imposing Hindi, Annamalai condemned Stalin, saying his intention is that only those who have money can learn multiple languages.
“By distorting the trilingual education as Hindi imposition, he has reaffirmed DMK‘s implicit policy that only those who have money should learn multiple languages,” Annamalai said.
Citing the amount of 11 crore spent on Sanskrit in 2024-25 and 10 crore allocated for 2025-26 in the policy note of the school education department, Annamalai said, “State govt has allocated 27 crore for the development of other languages in two years. Stalin should brief the people of the state about the amount spent by DMK govt on developing Sanskrit and other languages.”
