Stable Temperatures in Bihar Despite Approaching Cyclonic Storm: MeT Update | Patna News – Times of India

No significant change in temp this week in Bihar: MeT

Patna: Although mercury across the state has dropped below 30°C since the last few days, the minimum temperature continues to remain above normal even in the last week of November.
“Majority of the districts continue to record above normal minimum temperatures even when November is nearing its end. And no significant change in temperature in the state is predicted for the next five days,” said Patna Meteorological Office in its weather bulletin on Wednesday.
It further stated that as per numerical model, a deep depression over south-west Bay of Bengal had been formed, which is moving towards north-west direction and is likely to develop into a cyclonic storm.
“The developing system would be impactful even if it does not result into a cyclonic storm and its winds may enter Bihar via eastern-northern sides leading to negative effects on account of obstruction in the current north-westerly blowing in the state. This disturbance would lead to lesser dew formation during night and lower amount of sunshine in daytime that may adversely affect Rabi crop,” stated the bulletin.
The report also said the horizontal visibility would be affected due to the possibility of light to moderate fog over one or two places in northern parts of the state in morning hours of the next couple of days. The horizontal visibility is predicted to remain below 1,000 meters at the places during the said period.
The office has also forecast dry weather across the state for the next one week.
