Sports Infrastructure Development: Government to Develop Sports Infrastructure at Grassroots Level | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: The govt will focus on the development of sports infrastructure at the grassroots level, newly appointed sports minister Suryabanshi Suraj said here on Monday.
“There is a need to develop the sports infrastructure at grassroots level to encourage more participation and nurture talents from every corner of the state. We need to take them to the grassroots level,” said the minister during his visit to the Kalinga Stadium to review the sports infrastructure and ongoing works of the department.
“We will progress with the support of all stakeholders. Odisha has created its own identity with its sportspersons performing well at the national level. A blueprint has been prepared to create a special place for Odisha on the world sports map by 2036,” he added. During a meeting with sports secretary Vineel Krishna, the minister was informed about govt initiatives, infrastructure and success in the sports sector. Suraj discussed about celebration of International Day of Yoga on June 21.
Suraj, who is also the minister for Odia language, literature and culture, reviewed various schemes and projects of the department on Monday .
He stressed on setting up a Language Commission, formulating new guidelines for culture and heritage policy, to speed up the process of formation of various committees under Sahitya Akademi and to give away pending awards. He told officers for timely disbursement to beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Kalakar Sahayata Yojana and to prepare a road map for the next 100 days.
