Mumbai: Samajwadi party MLA Rais Shaikh has written to the BMC commissioner demanding the cancellation of a tender for construction of an aquarium on the Byculla zoo premises.
Shaikh has alleged that as only a single bidder participated in the tender process,it raises concerns about fairness and transparency. “The presence of lone bidder strongly suggests that the tender process may have been rigged, preventing healthy competition,” he wrote.
However, the civic authorities have clarified that there were initially two bidders who came ahead and one of them became illegible in the process, leaving only one in the race. tnn
