Bhubaneswar: Police on Friday arrested a software engineer (33) for allegedly entering into a physical relationship with his colleague after promising her marriage.
The woman, whose age was not revealed, lodged a police complaint in June against the IT professional, alleging sexual harassment. But the techie fled. After learning that a case had been registered against him, he moved court for anticipatory bail. After it was rejected, he had to present himself before the police. The police arrested him and produced him in court and was remanded in judicial custody.
“The accused was absconding for more than five months. We recorded the statement of the woman earlier and had registered an FIR. Further investigation is ongoing,” said a police officer.
