Snakebite: 4-year-old dies of snakebite, sister critical | Bhubaneswar News

Rourkela: A four-year-old boy died and his elder sister was critically injured after being bitten by a venomous snake on Wednesday in Katuridhua village under Bonai police station in Sundargarh district.
The victim was identified as Sandeep Oram. His sister, Alisa (12), is currently admitted to Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH).
According to the police, Sunil Oram, a farmer, lives with his wife, his son and two daughters in Katuridhua.On Wednesday night, when they were sleeping, a snake bit Sandeep and Alisa. Sunil killed the snake and then rushed the duo to Bonai subdivisional hospital, where Sandeep was declared brought dead.
Since Alisa’s condition was critical, she was admitted to RGH. Bonai police reached the hospital and carried out an inquiry. After the post-mortem, Bonai police handed over the body to the parents. “We have registered case of an unnatural death and we are investigating the matter,” R K Maharana, assistant sub-inspector of police, Bonai police station, said.
