Balasore: A six-year-old boy drowned while bathing in a pond at Tina village under Barunsingh panchayat under Khantapada police limits in Balasore district around 11 am on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Abhiman Dalei, the eldest son of Pradeep Dalei of Tina village.
The incident took place when Abhiman went to bathe in a nearby pond with his grandfather. But the boy lost his footing on the slippery steps and drowned in front of his grandfather. Hearing the grandfather’s cries for help, villagers rushed to the spot and began searching for the boy. After some time, Abhiman was pulled out in a critical condition and taken to Khantapada CHC. But doctor declared him dead upon arrival. Police have sent the body for post-mortem.TNN
