Six arrested for looting Rs 10L from trader | Bhubaneswar News

Balasore: Six individuals were arrested by Balasore police on Tuesday for allegedly looting Rs 10 lakh from a trader on Dec 16.
Biswaranjan Sahu, Biswaranjan Sahu, a wholesale potato and onion trader from Mangalpur, who filed a complaint at Khantapada police station alleging he was robbed near a bank in Sergarh while he was returning from a collection trip to Remuna and Nilgiri. The suspects, followed him on motorcycles, intercepted and terrorised him before fleeing with the cash.
“During investigation, Khantapada Police detained six suspects, who confessed to the crime. Police recovered Rs 1,55,000, a sharp weapon and three motorcycles used in the crime,” Balasore SP Raj Prasad said.
The arrested individuals include two from Balasore town, two from a place under Basta police station limits, one from Balasore Sadar and one from Sahadevkhunta. They have multiple criminal cases registered across different police stations in the district.
“The accused were produced before the court and further investigation is ongoing,” the SP added.
