SIT formed to investigate murder of Bhagalpur trader’s son | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: A special investigation team (SIT) was formed on Thursday in the murder case of a pharmaceutical businessman’s son in Bhagalpur district. Rounak Kedia (21), son of Balram Kedia — whose medicine shop on Bhagalpur’s M P Dwivedi Road is one of city’s oldest and largest — was shot dead near his home in Tetarpur police station area on Wednesday night.
Police said that Rounak was shot after he left the shop for home around 7 pm.He was shot to his head and chest. His lifeless body was later spotted by his father Balram lying on road, when he was returning home. Police recovered five empty bullet shells and a pellet from the scene.
Bhagalpur senior superintendent of police (SSP) Anand Kumar said an SIT has been formed under the leadership of Town ASP Ajay Kumar Choudhary. “The ASP, along with Tetarpur station house officer Anil Kumar and other police officers visited the scene. The forensic team has also collected samples from there. The criminals will be nabbed soon.”
Town ASP Choudhary said a total of six police teams have been formed for the investigation. “Four teams are scanning the footage of closed-circuit television cameras installed in the area for some clues of the killers. Currently, no clues of the criminals have been found. No extortion demand or robbery incident came to light during preliminary investigations. Further investigation is on.”
Meanwhile, to protest the murder, all shops in the pharmaceutical market of the city remained closed on Thursday.
