Shops in Sundargarh town asked to comply with legal hours of operation | Bhubaneswar News

Rourkela: Police have asked all shopkeepers in Sundargarh town to close their establishments by 10pm every day as a safety measure, failing which they would face action. “Despite multiple warnings and requests to comply with the established legal hours of operation, some shopkeepers failed to adhere to these regulations and as a result, the safety and well-being of the town is being compromised,” the notice by Aditya Mahakud, inspector in-charge of Town police station in Sundargarh, to shopkeepers stated.
“When shops remain open till late, it causes law-and-order problems as miscreants tend to gather near the stores, leading to criminal activities,” the notice further stated.
“Failure to heed this notice will leave us with no choice but to enforce the law through appropriate measures,” Mahakud warned in the notice.
