Rourkela: A minor boy, around 10 years old, was captured on a CCTV camera stealing a bag containing wedding gift envelopes filled with cash during a reception held on Sunday night.
The incident occurred around 10.45 PM when a relative temporarily left the bag unattended behind their seat. CCTV footage revealed the boy sneaking into the reception area and fleeing with the bag. An unidentified youth was also seen escorting the minor as they left the premises.
“We have registered a theft case and are working to identify both the minor and his accomplice based on the CCTV footage,” said R Swain, IIC of Raghunathpalli police station. The theft came to light when family members, unable to locate the bag, reviewed the hotel’s security footage. The exact amount stolen has not been disclosed.
