Shiv Sena (UBT) MLC Anil Parab urges Zeeshan Siddiqui to trust police investigation in father’s assassination case | Mumbai News – The Times of India
Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) MLC Anil Parab has said that if Zeeshan Siddiqui is not satisfied with the investigation into his father and NCP neta Baba Siddiqui‘s murder, he must take up the issue with the police. He was reacting to Zeeshan’s statement mentioning the names of several builders and a few politicians while raising suspicions regarding his father’s killing.
“Functionaries from all parties were present at the meeting of the Sant Dnyaneshwar Nagar slum redevelopment project. I went there as an MLC. We went there with the aim of helping the residents. Apart from this, I am not mentioned anywhere in his statement. A statement was given on October 24, 2024, and the police must have investigated this. Whatever comes out after the police investigation is mentioned in the chargesheet. After a complete investigation, a chargesheet was filed. If Zeeshan Siddiqui is not satisfied with that, he should complain to the govt again. If the truth is still hidden, it should be investigated. The police are theirs, the govt is theirs, so he should go to the police,” Parab said.
Parab said the police can reinvestigate the case and see who was calling Zeeshan’s father. “There are reports that Chhota Shakeel was calling his father. If he has no faith in the police in their own govt, then what can we do? If there are any new angles with builders, then this must be investigated. I’m open to all investigations, and it is our job to cooperate with the police.”
Mere allegations are not enough; they have to be proved, Parab said. The slum rehabilitation angle could be there to cover other angles. What was their relation to Chhota Shakeel, this must also be investigated by the police. “We don’t know what their transactions are,” Parab said.
