Shaktikanta arrives in state for 3-day visit

Bhubaneswar: Former RBI governor Shaktikanta Das, who was recently appointed as the second principal secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, arrived in Bhubaneswar on Thursday night for a three-day visit. This marks his first visit to his native state since assuming his new role in the Prime Minister’s Office. While no official statement has been released regarding the purpose of his visit, sources indicate that Das is expected to meet chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi and other senior state govt officials during his stay.
On Saturday, Das is scheduled to visit the Maa Tarini Temple at Ghatagaon in Keonjhar district. Recently, the state govt had announced the approval of Rs 215 crore for development of the sacred shrine.
Das’s visit to the temple is being viewed as significant given his influential position in the central govt and the temple’s importance in Odisha’s cultural landscape. He is scheduled to return to New Delhi on Sunday evening.
