Keonjhar: A truck driver was severely injured in a collision on NH-20 near Darkhola village in Keonjhar district around 4 am Thursday. The truck collided with another truck parked on the roadside under Ghasipura police limits. The impact of the collision left the driver of the moving vehicle trapped inside the badly damaged cabin.
Local residents immediately alerted emergency services, following which the Ghatgaon fire brigade rushed to the scene. After an hour-long rescue operation, fire-fighters successfully extracted the injured driver using specialized cutting equipment. The victim was subsequently transported to Ghatgaon community health centre for medical treatment. His current condition is not known.
