Bhubaneswar: A seven-year-old girl was rescued from near a temple in Saheed Nagar area under Saheed Nagar police station limits on Thursday night. The child was being allegedly tortured by her grandparents and police said she had bruises all over her body. She was taken to Saheed Nagar police station where she received first aid. Sources said that the child was staying with her grandparents after the demise of her biological parents. Police have initiated an investigation into the matter. “We rescued the child and launched an investigation into the matter. Things will be clear after interrogation,” deputy commissioner of police (Bhubaneswar) Pinak Mishra told TOI.
