Patna: Police arrested seven criminals and seized stolen items and weapons from their possession in the Fatuha police station area of Patna district on Friday. The recovered items included two locally manufactured pistols, four bullets, two motorcycles and jewellery made of gold and silver.The incident occurred on May 16 in Gauraiya, under the jurisdiction of Fatuha police station, when a group of six to seven criminals forcibly entered Rajkumar’s residence in Saidpur by breaking through the grill during late hours. They held the victim at gunpoint while carrying out the robbery. They stole Rs 5 lakh in cash and several valuable items, including a gold idol of Hanuman and some silver items.Patna rural SP Vikram Sihag said upon receiving the report, the police station responded promptly and the FSL and escort teams gathered crucial evidence from the scene. “Due to the serious nature of the robbery, a team was formed and they reviewed CCTV footage and verified individuals with suspicious backgrounds in the area. Based on intelligence and scientific investigation, seven accused were arrested,” he said.Addressing the mediapersons here on Saturday the SP said, “The stolen items, along with two motorcycles used in the crime and the weapons used to intimidate the victims, were recovered. Among the accused, one is a jeweller who intended to buy the stolen goods and melt them down to dispose them of. Some of the accused have a criminal history and were involved in similar incidents before,” Sihag said.He added, “The investigation will continue based on the evidence and their statements and their involvement in other local crimes will be examined.”The accused have been identified as gold trader Manish Raj from Sammaspur, Abhishek Kumar from Gauraiya Sthan, Rohit Kumar alias Chedi from Govindpur Kali Sthan, Golu Mahto from Saidpur, Rocky Pandey from Bakipur Gorakh and Dhruv Kumar from Sammaspur.Patna: Police arrested seven criminals and seized stolen items and weapons from their possession in the Fatuha police station area of Patna district on Friday.
