Septic Tank: Tragic Asphyxiation: Two Workers Die in Septic Tank Incident in Angul | Bhubaneswar News
Angul: Two labourers died of asphyxiation while repairing a septic tank in Nuahata village under Banarpal police station limits in Angul district on Friday. The deceased were identified as Raghu Hansda (28) and Medha Nag (31), both of Bahalda area in Mayurbhanj district.
Police said Surendra Pradhan of Nuahata had engaged four workers for the renovation of his septic tank.The deceased had entered the tank and two were outside. When Raghu and Medha didn’t come out for a long time, the other two workers looked in and found they were unconscious. They raised an alarm following which other villagers arrived and brought out the duo. They shifted the workers to a local hospital where they were declared dead. Surendra lodged a complaint in Banarpal police station in this connection. “We registered two unnatural death cases,” said a police officer. TNN
