Min: 120 STPs set up to treat wastewater

Bhubaneswar: As many as 120 septage treatment plants (STP)s have been set up in 115 urban local bodies (ULBs) to treat wastewater, housing and urban development minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra said in the assembly on Tuesday.
Replying to a question raised by MLA Akash Das Nayak on wastewater management in urban areas, Mahapatra said the 120 septage treatment plants can treat 2,087 kilo litres of wastewater daily.He also said that a grey water management system has been implemented in 110 ULBs for scientific treatment of the water discharged from kitchens, bathrooms and other such places.TNN

Marginal dip in urban area unemployment in April-June: PLFS data
The unemployment rate for individuals aged 15 and above in urban areas slightly declined to 6.6% in the April-June quarter from 6.7% in the previous quarter. The labour force participation rate (LFPR) remained stable at around 50.1%. Male joblessness decreased to 5.8%, while female unemployment increased to 9%.
