Security up at critical installations in Koraput | Bhubaneswar News

Koraput: The police administration in Koraput has stepped up security at critical installations, including the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited(HAL) facility and the Naval Armament Depot at Sunabeda, as well as Nalco plant at Damanjodi, though a ceasefire was announced by India and Pakistan on Saturday.Authorities said the establishments, given their strategic importance in the aerospace, defence, and industrial sectors, have been identified as potential high-risk targets. While Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personel are already deployed at these units, police have now intensified patrolling and implemented round-the-clock surveillance.”All police stations concerned have been put on maximum alert and the intelligence network has been strengthened to pre-empt any untoward incident,” said SP (Koraput), Rohit Verma. “Though the situation remains normal, we cannot afford to be complacent. Our focus remains on proactive anti-terror measures,” he said. The SP further said that regular joint coordination meetings are being conducted with officials of the respective establishments to review and reinforce security protocols. Surveillance footage from CCTV cameras in and around the sites is also being closely monitored as part of the heightened vigilance.Police said the enhanced security measures are part of broader precautionary steps being taken by security agencies across the country to safeguard strategic and sensitive assets in light of the tensions.
