Security tightened for Ram Navami processions

Rourkela: For the first time, the Sundargarh administration has installed over 100 CCTV cameras along the Ram Navami procession route in Rajgangpur. Additionally, 26 platoons of police forces have been deployed to maintain law and order during the celebration scheduled on Sunday.
The 1-km-long procession, featuring 23 akhadas, will commence from Babatalab at 2 pm and conclude at Liploi Hanuman temple by 10 pm.
“All necessary arrangements have been made for Ram Navami celebrations at Rajgangpur,” said B B Bhoi, sub-divisional police officer, Rajgangpur. Security measures include drone surveillance and police personnel stationed on building rooftops along the procession route. Special attention will be given to sensitive areas, which will be cordoned off during the celebration.
The security arrangements follow recent visits by DGP Y B Khurania to Rajgangpur and Rourkela, where he emphasised the importance of peaceful celebrations. Senior police officers, including ADG (law and order) Sanjay Kumar, DIG (western range) Brijesh Kumar Rai, and local SPs, participated in the security review meetings.
Similar security arrangements have been made in Rourkela for peaceful Ram Navami celebrations. The immersion ceremony is scheduled for Monday.
